According www.f35.com that F-35 consists of three variants and all of them are single-seat jet fighters. For example, the F-35A is the variant that has conventional takeoff and landing or CTOL system. While the F-35B is the variant that has short takeoff vertical landing or STOVL. And the last one is F-35C. It is the carrier variant or CV.
So, shortly we can say that the three f-35 variants have similar performance characteristics and are mainly distinguished by their different basing requirement as we the F-35B and F35-C have unique ways to takeoff and land.
